Fine Line Tattoo Aftercare
Fine line and micro tattoos heal like any tattoo — with one difference: thin, delicate lines have less margin for rough healing, so the care Fawn sends you home with is what protects the crispness you paid for.
Fawn's full aftercare protocol is provided at your appointment, in writing, specific to the service you had. This page will carry that protocol verbatim once it's confirmed for publication — what's below is the general healing arc, so you know what to expect, not a substitute for her instructions.
The first days
A fresh tattoo is an open-skin situation: expect redness, tenderness and some oozing of plasma and ink at first. Fawn's written protocol covers cleaning, covering and what products to use — follow it to the letter, especially with fine work.
The first two weeks — flake and settle
The surface dries, flakes and can itch as it heals. Picking or scratching a fine line piece can pull pigment out of a line that is only a needle's width wide — hands off is the single most important rule.
Weeks two to six — the lines find their weight
As skin fully rebuilds, lines soften slightly from their fresh sharpness into their settled healed weight. This is normal — a healed fine line piece should look delicate, not raw.
The long game — keeping it crisp
What ages fine line work fastest is sun. Once fully healed, sun protection on the tattoo is the cheapest thing you can do for how it looks in five years — along with moisturized skin, which carries detail better than dry skin.
